From inclusion and education

to financial wellbeing

For more than 22 years and 23 countries, Fundefir offers applied and self-sustainable financial education

We are a social enterprise that promotes education, inclusion and the financial well-being of families, improving old informal associative mechanisms widely used by low-income populations and creating an alternative and complementary path to banking.

Financial

Wellbeing

We understand by Financial Well-being "a state in which the family has access to diverse financial services, education for conscious financial decision-making and real spaces where they can direct their budget to ensure financial resilience."

In this sense, we defend the idea of broadening our vision and redefining the elements that have traditionally characterized inclusion and financial education, but also understand that it is necessary to go beyond these elements and try to influence the quality of family spending as a key element to obtain financial well-being

OUR VISION

We want to be an organization that promotes new ideas and strategies so that things change regarding finances for the majority. We want to highlight ideas such as:

  • Saving is the fundamental financial need of families and must be promoted with a more innovative vision.

  • Banking has not been an effective and efficient strategy, nor is it the only alternative for financial inclusion

  • We must move from education and inclusion to Financial Well-being

  • To reduce the vulnerability of families, we must try to influence the quality of spending

OUR
MISSION

We are a Social organization that promotes education, inclusion and financial well-being of families, improving old informal associative mechanisms widely used by low-income populations that we call "BK-Groups" (Bankomunales in other countries other than Colombia) and creating alternative spaces to facilitate the redirection of family spending and access to goods and services that we call "Poverty Buffers"
